NEXTDC (NE1 Newman) Data Center

The NEXTDC NE1 Newman Data Centre is a state-of-the-art facility strategically located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Purpose-built to meet the digital infrastructure demands of the mining sector, NE1 delivers secure, high-performance connectivity essential for supporting critical remote operations in this resource-rich region.

Construction of the NE1 facility commenced in early fiscal year 2024, with operations expected to begin by early fiscal year 2025. The data centre provides 560 square metres of white space and supports more than 250 racks. It is designed with a total power capacity of 1.5 megawatts and incorporates N+N redundancy across both power and cooling systems, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and operational resilience.

NE1 offers a wide range of colocation services tailored to varying business requirements, including full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rack space, and private cages. In addition, the facility provides Remote Hands support and access to peering networks, enabling seamless connectivity and efficient infrastructure management for organisations operating in the region.

Located in one of Australia’s hottest and driest climates, NE1 has been developed with sustainability at its core. The facility integrates solar power generation, advanced water conservation technologies, and responsible eWaste disposal practices.
