SY9x marks a significant milestone as Equinix’s first xScale data center in Sydney. Situated in Rosehill, it sits strategically adjacent to the Parramatta CBD, Western Sydney’s booming commercial hub. This location is purpose built to allow hyperscale companies to integrate core deployments seamlessly with their existing access points on Equinix’s extensive global platform.
Power Capacity and Scalability
The facility is designed for massive scale, catering to the high density requirements of modern cloud providers. At its current stage, SY9x provides 14 MW of live power capacity. As the site evolves toward its final phase, it is engineered to support a total of more than 28 MW when fully built out, ensuring long term growth for its tenants.
Infrastructure and Operational Reliability
To ensure continuous uptime and mission critical reliability, SY9x employs rigorous redundancy protocols across its primary systems. Both the electrical and cooling systems operate on an N+1 redundancy model. This ensures that even during maintenance or an unexpected component failure, the data center maintains peak performance without service interruption.

The physical scale of the facility is equally impressive, featuring a fully built out whitespace of 8,984 square meters. Within this space, Equinix offers versatile housing options ranging from full and partial cabinets to dedicated suites.
