The Telstra PBS Tianjin Data Centre TJCS1, officially launched in October 2014, serves as a vital Point of Presence supporting the North China region. Situated in the Jingjin Gaocun High tech Park within the Wuqing District, the facility offers a prime location for core IT infrastructure. It is exceptionally accessible for commuters and logistics, located just two minutes from the Gaocun exit on the Jingjin Highway. Furthermore, it sits roughly 44 kilometers from Beijing Capital International Airport and 50 kilometers from Tiananmen Square, with high speed rail links connecting Beijing South Railway Station to Wuqing in just 17 minutes.

Engineered to support intensive computing needs, the facility features a fully built out power capacity of 38 MW. To ensure continuous uptime, the data centre utilizes a standby power system consisting of 10 Perkins diesel generator sets in an N+1 redundancy configuration, each providing 1800 kW of common power. For immediate backup, the Uninterruptible Power Supply systems are rated for 15 minutes of autonomy during full load operations. This infrastructure supports high density deployments, offering a maximum power capacity of up to 8 kW per rack.

Maintaining an optimal environment for hardware is a priority at TJCS1, which utilizes a sophisticated cooling architecture. The system is anchored by five York variable frequency water chillers deployed in an N+1 redundancy model. Each chiller provides a cold capacity of up to 850 tons, ensuring that the 6000 sq.m. facility remains at precise temperature levels. The architectural design includes raised floors and a significant floor to ceiling height of 640 cm, which facilitates efficient airflow and heat management for the server housing areas.

A major advantage of the Tianjin data centre is its operator neutral status, providing clients with the flexibility to connect with major domestic carriers across China. The facility has established long term relationships with these carriers and offers five line BGP resources to ensure high speed, reliable data transmission. With three peering networks and a modular design, the facility allows for on demand resource configuration. This flexibility helps enterprises avoid resource idling while enabling seamless, rapid upgrades to their network deployment as their needs evolve.

The facility is protected by a multi layered security protocol designed to meet stringent enterprise standards. Physical access is tightly controlled via biometric scanners, card access systems, and 24/7 onsite security personnel, all bolstered by continuous CCTV surveillance. For fire safety, the data centre employs specialized systems. The computer rooms are protected by an IG541 gaseous fire suppression system, while common areas utilize a water spray fire suppression system. This dual approach ensures that equipment is protected from fire damage without the risks associated with traditional water systems in server environments.

TJCS1 offers a variety of colocation options, ranging from full and partial cabinets to shared rack space and secure cages. Beyond the technical specifications, the data centre provides Remote Hands support and customized service packages tailored to specific client requirements. The facility also caters to the human element of IT management, providing professional office spaces, conference rooms, and breakrooms. This combination of high grade technical facilities and onsite amenities makes it a comprehensive solution for long term infrastructure deployment.
