HR-ZOO (HR-ZOO ST) Data Center

The HR-ZOO ST data center, situated on the University of Split's campus in Visoka, is a modern facility integral to the Croatian Scientific and Educational Cloud (HR-ZOO) project. It is a cornerstone of Croatia's national e-infrastructure, providing essential high-quality computer and storage resources, scientific tools, and robust network connectivity, thereby significantly supporting the country's educational system development. As one of five data centers in the HR-ZOO project, it spans a gross area of 379 sq.m. of whitespace.

The data center has a designed fully built-out power capacity of 0.125 MW (125 kW). High availability is ensured by a comprehensive power infrastructure, which includes an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system rated at 100 kVA to handle brief outages, and a powerful diesel generator with an installed capacity of 220 kVA for extended power support. The facility also features a dedicated cooling system with a 100 kW capacity, essential for maintaining optimal operating conditions for the ICT equipment.

To guarantee high availability and security, HR-ZOO ST is equipped with state-of-the-art technical systems. These include sophisticated ventilation and cooling systems, dedicated communication and server cabinets, and comprehensive data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solutions. The facility also offers various deployment options, including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, and Shared Rackspace, along with Remote Hands service for operational support.

The data center maintains stringent security and environmental standards through an array of specialized systems. These encompass advanced security and environment monitoring systems, an effective fire alarm and suppression system, controlled access control mechanisms, and CCTV surveillance for continuous visual monitoring. These integrated systems collectively ensure a secure and stable operating environment for the critical ICT resources housed within the facility.
