Power Infrastructure and Redundancy
The facility is supported by a robust electrical framework designed for continuous uptime. Power is delivered via a dedicated 15000V transformer with dual electrical feeds to prevent single points of failure. In the event of a grid outage, a 650 kVA diesel generator, backed by 6000 liters of fuel, provides up to 48 hours of autonomous operation. This infrastructure supports three high density white rooms, where individual racks can accommodate power capacities of up to 20 kVA or 20 kW, allowing for intensive computing workloads.
Energy Efficiency and Green Computing
A primary focus of the Canéjan site is minimizing its environmental footprint through Smart Grid energy optimization. By utilizing HP Converged Infrastructure architecture, the data center leverages virtual resource pools and centralized orchestration to reduce total energy consumption by nearly 50 percent. While the initial Power Usage Effectiveness was recorded at 2.3, the integration of these green technologies allows the facility to target a PUE from 1.6 to 1.7 as it scales, significantly outperforming the European average of 2.8.
