Etix Everywhere (#1) Data Center

The facility occupies a unique space in the Lyon tech landscape, blending long-standing reliability with modern innovation. While the site has been operational for over 15 years—dating back to its original establishment in 1987—it underwent a massive transformation between 2018 and 2019. This retrofitted, sole-tenant construction was completely modernized to meet contemporary standards, officially reopening as the hosTELyon Carrier Hotel in 2018.

Engineered for high availability, the data center boasts a Tier 3+ design (officially Tier 3 certified) ensuring robust uptime for mission-critical operations. The infrastructure is housed within a 600 m² office complex and includes a dedicated whitespace that is expandable to meet growing demand. This structural integrity is backed by a team with recognized expertise in both telecommunications and IT infrastructure hosting.

The facility is built to handle intensive computational loads, offering a fully built-out power capacity of 0.12 MW. It provides high-density power options, reaching up to 12 kW per rack or a maximum power area of 2 kW/sq.ft. To maintain this output efficiently, the site operates with a PUE of 1.6, balancing high-performance energy delivery with cooling management.

To protect sensitive hardware, hosTELyon utilizes an N+1 cooling redundancy system, ensuring that temperature regulation remains constant even during component maintenance. Safety is prioritized through an automatic, human-friendly fire suppression system that uses inert gas. This setup is specifically designed to extinguish threats without damaging electronic equipment or posing a risk to personnel on-site.

The data center provides a highly flexible environment for diverse client needs, currently operating with 120 racks. Clients can choose from a wide variety of hosting configurations, including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, Cages, and Suite Footprints. This versatility makes it an ideal hub for businesses ranging from small enterprises to large-scale network providers.

Connectivity is a core strength of this "Carrier Hotel," featuring a dedicated Meet-Me-Room (MMR) to facilitate seamless interconnections. The ecosystem is vibrant, hosting 30 peering networks and two major network providers. Additionally, there are three tenants on-site specifically offering colocation services, further enriching the local peering and transit options available to customers.

Security and uptime are guaranteed through 24/7 onsite technical and security staff. The facility is ISO27001 certified, featuring comprehensive CCTV surveillance and strict access protocols. Beyond physical security, the site offers Remote Hands services, allowing clients to leverage the onsite expert team for technical tasks and maintenance at any hour of the day.
