MedNautilus Greece provides comprehensive managed data center solutions across more than 8000 m2 of co-location space in Koropi, Metamorphosis (Attica), and Chania (Crete). They offer a state-of-the-art suite of services including co-location with first and second-level support, storage networking, managed hosting, and disaster recovery. The facilities, including the Metamorphosis data center with a 2,580 sq.m. total size and 2 MW fully built-out power, are designed to enable fast, efficient, and economical connection options for clients with other telecommunications providers and their customers.
The company guarantees high availability with an Electro-mechanical SLA of 99.999% and a climate SLA of 99.99%. Connectivity is a core strength, as the company mainly addresses the telecommunications market. The facilities are a major local hub, with the Metamorphosis data center hosting critical connections from providers like OTE, Attica Telecom, Vodafone, TIM, and Tellas, often utilizing double routing. Microwave network equipment from over five companies is installed on the roof, enabling extensive local interconnectivity across Attica. Internationally, they offer a rapid link to their parent Data Center's network covering the Eastern Mediterranean, Western Europe, and North America, with global connectivity available through partner networks. Local direct connectivity includes Chania and soon Thessalonica. Interconnections are offered from wavelength to 2 Mbps (or more), supporting technologies such as SDH, ATM, GbE, and TCP/IP.
The data centers are built to meet the most advanced international standards, in accordance with NEBS requirements (Network Equipment Building Standards), utilizing N+1 system back-up throughout. They are certified with: PCI Certified, ISO27001 Certified, ISO9001 Certified, and ISO14001 Certified.
The facilities offer space in various formats, including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, and Cages Footprints, supported by Remote Hands service. The electrical supply provides two high-voltage sources with an electrical supply connection that exceeds 1 KVA/m2. Power is protected by 2N standby power redundancy, with Diesel UPS back-up systems composed of two Continuous Power Supply (CPS) units, each with a 1000 KVA output, capable of sustaining operations (including air conditioning) during a power outage. They also feature double DC power feed for A+B equipment and an Automatic Static Transfer Switch (ASTS) system option for single-feed equipment, along with 1 OHM grounding systems with up to 30 MHz frequency for sensitive hardware and HP filtering for HF currents.
Operational integrity is managed by a BMS (Building Management System) that provides 24/7 monitoring and complete control over all building systems (electricity, air-conditioning, fire detection). The air conditioning systems are designed to operate in extreme conditions, utilizing Liebert units (350,000 btu) with direct venting via raised floors. They maintain a precise environment of 22°C ± 1° temperature and 50% ± 10% humidity at all times. The fire detection system uses local sampling units, with an automatic, gas-based FM200 extinguishing system as the primary response. A back-up "dry" water-based system is available in a worst-case scenario, and the structure is fire-proofed for up to four hours.
A high guarantee of security is maintained with market-leading systems for entry control and intrusion detection, offering round-the-clock protection. CCTV surveillance and Onsite Security Staff (24/7) are in place. Access to workrooms and servers is strictly monitored by a central system using “smart cards,” biometric cameras, and other devices. The company provides consistent and reliable customer services, including continuous technical support from the planning and installation stages up to final implementation.
