BIRGER. (Candos Recovery Centre) Data Center

The Candos Recovery Centre, designed to offer complete peace of mind, is strategically located on the second floor of the MT Exchange building, positioned directly above the core MT network. The facility operates on a 24/7 basis and offers a wide array of services and infrastructure to its clients. The facility features a fully built-out whitespace of 2,400 sq.m. and offers flexible cabinet options, including full cabinets, partial cabinets, and shared rackspace footprints, while also providing Remote Hands services.

The centre boasts a secure and modern Data Centre where all Client Hosted, Syndicated, and Dedicated servers are monitored continuously, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, supported by both manned security and CCTV. To ensure a safe environment, the facility maintains optimum temperature and humidity levels using technologically advanced environmental monitoring systems. Fire protection is robust, featuring automatic fire protection mechanisms and first-class smoke detection systems monitored by Mauritius Telecoms NOC. Furthermore, non-ozone depleting fire extinguishers undergo strict verification every six months.

The data centre is backed up by a diesel generator and UPS battery backup with Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS). UPS systems provide immediate protection during a power failure, after which the diesel generator takes over, capable of providing power for up to six days without refuelling. Cooling is integral, with the data centre fitted with non-ozone depleting redundant Precision Cooling Units. The entire facility is also ISO 22301 Certified, enhancing its resilience credentials.

To meet diverse client needs, network facilities are readily available through both copper and fibre lines. The centre is situated right on top of the core MT network, ensuring reliable connectivity.

The Work Area Recovery (WAR) area provides syndicated and dedicated working space suitable for back office, call centre, or other business personnel. The WAR is equipped with 100 positions, each fully set up with workstations, standard office furniture, and telephone handsets. Essential office support facilities, including print, copy, scan, and fax, are also available.

In the event of an invocation, the latest production image of the client's applications is rapidly deployed onto the contracted workstations using a rapid desktop deployment technology, all within an agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA).

A modern, fully equipped command centre is available at the Candos Recovery Centre, serving as a dedicated area for Executives to hold meetings, conferences, and other critical discussions during an incident. The centre also provides essential amenities for client comfort and support, including pause and rest areas. Security is reinforced with a fenced perimeter and onsite security staff, 24/7. Dedicated parking is available for client use, offering spaces for more than 50 vehicles.
