Digital Realty (AMS6) Data Center

Previously known as Interxion AMS6, the facility was rebranded as Digital Realty AMS6 following Digital Realty’s acquisition of Interxion in 2022. Conveniently located just 13 kilometers from Amsterdam’s city center and less than 10 kilometers from Schiphol International Airport, AMS6 provides secure, sustainable, and high-performance colocation services within one of Europe’s most connected markets.

Digital Realty AMS6 is built on an energy-efficient modular architecture that supports the latest high-density power configurations. The facility offers 4,400 square meters of fully built-out whitespace and accommodates a wide range of colocation options, including full and partial cabinets, shared rackspace, cages, suites, custom footprints, and remote hands support.

The data center is part of a highly connected Amsterdam campus that offers access to a growing ecosystem of carriers, ISPs, and Internet Exchanges. Clients benefit from direct connectivity to AMS-IX and NL-ix, as well as access to more than two major network providers. The campus features dual-entry fibre, SLA-based cross connects, and robust peering options to enhance performance and reduce network costs.

AMS6 ensures power resilience down to the cabinet level, featuring up to 99.999% SLA availability, 2N UPS redundancy, and a full range of AC and DC power options. Backup generators provide 24 hours of power at full capacity with guaranteed refueling within four hours. Cooling systems follow a minimum N+1 configuration, and the facility adheres to temperature and humidity SLAs in line with ASHRAE recommendations.

Security at AMS6 is multi-layered, with five physical security levels including biometric and card access controls, 24/7 onsite security personnel, and extensive CCTV surveillance. The facility is certified under ISO and BS standards for information security management, ensuring data protection and compliance with international benchmarks.

To safeguard against fire risks, the facility includes fire-retardant walls, very early smoke detection apparatus (VESDA), direct links to local fire stations, and automatic gas-based fire suppression systems. All equipment is monitored and maintained in a climate-controlled environment with 24/7 oversight of critical infrastructure like chillers, CRACs, fire panels, and UPS systems.

Digital Realty AMS6 is powered by 100% certified green energy sourced from wind, biomass, and water. The facility implements sustainable technologies such as free cooling, groundwater cooling, and waste heat reuse—always prioritizing operational reliability and uptime. Continuous monitoring helps improve overall energy efficiency without compromising availability.
