Dataplace is currently building its fifth data center, Dataplace Amsterdam, which is expected to open in the third quarter of this year. This new facility joins their existing Tier III data centers in Brabant, Arnhem, Utrecht, and near Rotterdam, further strengthening Dataplace’s position in the regional, national, and international data center markets. The services at Dataplace Amsterdam will primarily focus on national and international companies and organizations, leveraging Amsterdam’s role as a digital harbor where significant data traffic converges, second only to London.
Location and Accessibility
Dataplace Amsterdam is being constructed near the industrial area De President in Hoofddorp, offering easy access via highway A4, exit 3. This strategic location provides excellent connectivity and convenience for clients, making it an ideal site for a state-of-the-art data center.
Infrastructure and Redundancy
The data center will be fully built with 2N redundancy for UPS, cooling, and standby power, ensuring high availability and reliability. The purpose-built facility spans 4,500 square meters, with 2,000 square meters of fully built-out whitespace. It is designed to support a maximum floor load of 1,500 kg per square meter, accommodating heavy equipment safely.
Security and Safety Features
Dataplace Amsterdam incorporates advanced security measures including CCTV surveillance, biometric and card access controls, and an automatic Argonite gas fire suppression system. These features guarantee a secure environment for critical data and infrastructure.
Facilities and Services
The data center will offer a range of options such as full and partial cabinets, shared rack space, cages, suites, and footprints. Additional amenities include a meet-me-room, conference room, office space, loading bay, and parking for 30 vehicles. Remote hands services will be available to assist customers with technical support.
