It holds the prestigious Uptime Institute Tier IV Certification, representing the highest level of availability and fault tolerance. The site was further expanded in 2020 into a "core site," ensuring it remains a state-of-the-art hub for mission-critical infrastructure.
Power Infrastructure and Redundancy
The facility is designed with a fully redundant power architecture to prevent any single point of failure. It utilizes a redundant UPS cluster (A + B network), dedicated transformer stations with medium voltage ring connections, and emergency diesel generators. For clients utilizing redundant power in their racks, it is important to note that power circuits should not exceed 50% of the fused level (typically 16 A) to ensure stability during a failover.
Advanced Cooling and Fire Protection
To maintain optimal hardware performance, the site employs a redundant air-conditioning system. Safety is managed through a multi-stage fire prevention strategy, beginning with a VESDA (Very Early Warning Aspirating Smoke Detection) system. In the event of an incident, an Inergen fire-extinguishing system is used, which suppresses fire without damaging sensitive electronic equipment.
Security and Access Control
Security is maintained 24/7 through a combination of physical and digital protocols. Access is strictly controlled via biometric authentication, man-traps, and goods-locks to prevent unauthorized entry. The entire perimeter and interior are monitored by continuous video surveillance, ensuring that both full suites and shared rack spaces remain secure at all times.
Connectivity and Peering
As a core site, the facility is redundantly integrated into a peering mesh with 2x 100GE capacity. The NTS sponsorship provides clients with a direct connection to the SwissIX (Swiss Internet Exchange). Furthermore, the site is well-connected internally with preinstalled copper and fiber-optic cabling from racks to central units, offering cost-effective patching for tenants with valid colocation contracts.
Colocation Services and Remote Hands
The data center offers flexible space configurations, ranging from Shared Rackspace and Partial Cabinets to private Cages and Suites. To support off-site administrators, NTS provides "Remote Hands" services for minor on-site tasks. This allows businesses to manage their infrastructure remotely and focus on day-to-day operations without needing to travel to the colocation site for routine maintenance.
