Chunghwa Telecom (CHT Taoyuan Fuguo IDC) Data Center

The facility is a substantial 11-story structure, comprising 8 floors above ground and 3 basement levels, designed to accommodate up to 300 racks. Rack formats include 45U (95×60 cm) and 42U (120×60 cm). The technical space is equipped with raised floors ranging from 30 cm to 45 cm in height and supports a floor loading capacity of 500 kg/m². The building features a seismic resistance rating of up to 179 gal, ensuring durability and stability during seismic events.

The facility’s power architecture is designed for high availability, utilizing an N+1 configuration for both the UPS systems and diesel generators. Each rack is provisioned with 3 kW of primary and redundant power. Fuel reserves on-site can sustain up to 56 hours of generator operation under full load. Rack Power Distribution Units (PDUs) support both NEMA L5-30R and L6-30R plug configurations.

Security protocols are comprehensive, featuring 24/7 onsite staffing, multi-layered access control incorporating biometric and card authentication, and continuous CCTV surveillance. Video footage is retained for six months in entrance and exit zones, and for three months in other monitored areas. Fire protection systems include VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) and an INERGEN automatic fire suppression system. Additionally, 24/7 Smart Hands and onsite technical support staff ensure operational reliability.

The data center’s connectivity is anchored by dedicated HiNet backbone nodes, reinforced with Data Center Interconnect (DCI) capabilities. Designed for redundancy and reliability, the facility features two independent entry points for external network lines and diverse in-building pathways to minimize single points of failure.

A range of colocation services are available, including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, and Shared Rackspace. The facility also provides comprehensive support options such as Remote Hands and 24/7 Smart Hands services to ensure continuous operational assistance.
