The Hemel Hempstead 3 Data Center is one of seven facilities operated across Hemel Hempstead, Slough, and Dagenham, providing secure and highly available environments for IT and network infrastructure.
Facility Design & Capacity
The facility offers a fully built-out whitespace of over 8,900 m² of server space, supporting a maximum IT load of 20MW. It provides flexible housing solutions including full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rackspace, and cages.
Power & Cooling Infrastructure
The data center features a 20MW critical IT load supported by a resilient power infrastructure with dual dedicated 11,000V (HV) grid connections (2N) and on-site 2N redundant HV substations. UPS systems have a minimum N+1 redundancy with battery backup, while standby power is N+1 with backup generators. Cooling is centrally managed through the Building Management System (BMS), with room air conditioning units and regulated humidity.
Security & Fire Protection
Security is ensured through 24/7 on-site staff, a fenced perimeter, proximity card access, man traps, and biometric identification. The facility is monitored by internal and external IP CCTV systems. Fire protection includes automatic suppression in all hosting suites and plant areas.
Connectivity & Interconnection
The data center is carrier-neutral and provides access to a diverse range of network providers, from global Tier 1 to regional suppliers. It features a Meet-Me-Room (MMR) and redundant Carrier-Meet-Me-Rooms, enabling seamless interconnection and network peering.
