Opened in July 2012, ColoCrossing’s BUF1 data center is the company’s second facility in New York. Strategically located in Western New York between New York City, Chicago, and Toronto BUF1 offers low-latency connectivity to major population centers across the East Coast and provides superior international reach, particularly to Europe. The facility benefits from the region’s favorable economic conditions and proximity to Niagara Falls, a major source of renewable hydro-electric energy, ensuring sustainable power operations.

The BUF1 data center spans a total building size of 13,000 square feet, with 7,000 square feet of fully built-out whitespace and 1.44 MW of power capacity. Designed as a retrofitted, multi-tenant facility, BUF1 became operational in 2014. It includes features such as roof access and expansion capabilities for additional whitespace.
