Telehouse America (TELEHOUSE Los Angeles Center) Data Center

Located in the heart of Los Angeles' high-tech district, the Los Angeles Center stands as a critical infrastructure hub on the Pacific Rim. This SSAE 16-compliant facility is home to the LAIIX (Los Angeles International eXchange), a major Internet Exchange Point that enhances regional and transpacific connectivity. With more than 13,000 square feet (approximately 1,200 square meters) of space, it offers a strategic colocation environment for enterprises seeking low-latency connections between the United States and Asia's economic centers.

The Los Angeles Center features a power configuration supported by one commercial power source, supplemented by dual UPS systems. As of August 2009, the UPS configuration was upgraded to an N+1 design, enhancing its resiliency. Backup power is further reinforced by an on-site generator. The facility maintains a redundant 24-hour cooling system to ensure optimal environmental conditions for mission-critical equipment.

Security is a top priority at the Los Angeles Data Center. The site is protected by 24/7 on-site security personnel, supported by a suite of electronic systems including access card controls, biometric access, and extensive CCTV surveillance. A pre-action sprinkler fire suppression system provides an additional layer of protection against fire hazards, minimizing the risk of accidental discharge while ensuring rapid response to real threats.

Managed and maintained by KDDI America, the facility offers 24/7 operational support. Skilled engineers are stationed on-site around the clock, and services are available in both English and Japanese, catering to the needs of domestic and international clients alike.

The Los Angeles Center is a fully carrier-neutral facility, offering a range of colocation services including full and partial cabinets, Shared Rackspace, cages, suites, and individual footprints. It also features a Meet-Me-Room (MMR) for interconnection, enabling seamless connectivity between tenants. Remote Hands services are available for clients requiring technical support without being physically present.

As a vital Internet Exchange hub, the Los Angeles Center hosts one major IXP and supports peering with five networks. It also maintains connectivity through one network provider, facilitating robust and scalable network architecture for data-intensive operations.

The facility is fully built out to support a power capacity of 0.665 megawatts (MW), aligning with the needs of enterprise-grade applications and services.
