Access to CorKat’s data centers is rigorously controlled 24x7x365 through keycard protocols and constant interior and exterior video surveillance. Cameras are installed on each aisle, and clients can be granted access to monitors specific to their individual cameras, or provided special, dedicated cameras for their rack, cage, or suite. Only authorized data center personnel are granted direct access; all others must first seek clearance and be accompanied by an authorized CorKat escort. Furthermore, all data center employees must successfully pass thorough background security checks before being permitted to work within the facilities.

The data centers maintain optimal operating conditions through 24x7x365 environment monitoring with alarms. To prevent overheating, CorKat employs N+1 redundant HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) systems. This redundancy ensures that if a primary HVAC system fails, a duplicate is immediately available to take over the load without interruption. Air quality is also a priority: the air in the data centers is completely recirculated and filtered every 90 seconds to effectively remove dust and contaminants.

CorKat utilizes an advanced fire detection system designed to rapidly identify and halt fires from spreading, should an event ever occur. This proactive approach minimizes the risk of damage to critical equipment and maintains the safety of the facility.

Power continuity is guaranteed with 24x7x365 monitoring of all power infrastructure. In the event of a complete power outage from multiple utility services, the data centers are immediately supported by power systems utilizing conditioned UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) power, designed to run uninterrupted.

CorKat's UPS systems feature N+1 redundancy and an automated instantaneous failover capability, meaning a backup UPS unit immediately takes over if a primary one fails. For extended outages, diesel generators are available to source the data centers indefinitely.

CorKat utilizes fully redundant, enterprise-class routing equipment in all of its data centers to eliminate single points of failure in the network. A key layer of protection is provided by having fiber carriers enter the data centers at physically distinct and separate locations. This guards against a single physical incident disrupting service.

The personnel managing the data center operations are highly qualified. All members of the networking and security teams are certified and highly experienced in managing and monitoring enterprise-level networks. Additionally, CorKat’s CNTs are trained to the highest industry standards.

CorKat provides 24x7x365 monitoring of the physical health of production equipment, including servers, switches, and routers. Monitoring extends to pre-defined and user-defined checks for NAS, UPS, switches, IP responsiveness, open/closed ports, and website responsiveness, as well as bandwidth (broadband, leased line, T1, etc.).
