Collectively, these state-of-the-art data centers provide 420,000 square feet of purpose-built infrastructure and deliver up to 48 megawatts (MW) of critical power. Designed for maximum flexibility, the Data center supports a variety of redundancy configurations to meet the needs of diverse enterprise and hyperscale customers.With three distinct data centers NVA1, NVA2, and NVA3 operating under a unified Data center model, the CyrusOne Virginia facility provides robust capacity and flexibility for growing enterprises. Each data hall is engineered to deliver up to 1 kW per square foot, supporting dense compute workloads and high-performance applications in a scalable, secure environment.
Power and Infrastructure
The Data center offers a total power capacity of up to 48 MW, with 48 MW available at N redundancy and 36 MW configured for distributed redundant systems. It supports multiple redundancy models including N, Distributed Redundant, and 2N within the same footprint. Power is delivered through dual-input PDUs equipped with Static Transfer Switches (STS), ensuring high availability and failover protection. Backup power is provided by 85.5 MW of dedicated diesel generators, each featuring 6,800-gallon belly tanks capable of supporting critical loads for up to 48 hours. Diverse refueling agreements further reinforce power resiliency.
Security and Staffing
CyrusOne’s Virginia Data center maintains a secure environment with 24/7 on-site security and technical staff. Security features include CCTV surveillance, biometric and card access controls, and automated fire suppression systems. The fire protection strategy integrates a Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA), ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of potential threats to critical infrastructure.
